Co-founder and creative director Sarah Gittoes describes its genesis not from a studio, but under the sea, deep within Tasmania’s giant kelp forests. “I learned that kelp anchors during storms – even dislodging boulders with the vigour of its hold. This was like our relationship with our partners: sustainable, evolving, and closely entwined.” That ethos carries through the design ideology of MARINE. Cast at their Sydney workshop and set with carefully selected stones – sapphires, peridots, Australian natural diamonds – the rings are crafted to the stone. No two are the same. No two loves are either.

Its settings are reminiscent of flowing golden kelp, a tribute to nature’s determination and beauty. GemSTONE forms range from the new Asscher and Cushion through the timeless Oval and Pear, all of which are reflections of character, inclination, and poetry.
