Lauren and Christopher moved to Western Australia shortly after they were engaged. "We planned the wedding from Perth. I think brides are often a little sad when the planning process is over but for Chris and I we were just relieved. The wedding was perfect and magical but planning it from the other side of the country was a challenge."

Let the plans begin

After researching, Lauren and Chris decided on Jaspers, Berry as their wedding venue. "Jaspers stood out to us because it offered a great space for our ceremony and reception and also as a weekend getaway for our guests." Jaspers is situated in the countryside of the south coast of New South Wales. It is a beautiful property with manicured gardens and historical buildings.

The bride and groom

Lauren wore Karen Willis Homes' Caitlyn gown. It was fully sequinned with fitted fishtail, V neckline, cap sleeves and sheer tulle back. She changed into a Lover dress for the reception. "It was actually Chris' idea that I have a second dress for the reception. I was hesitant at first but it's hard to resist a Lover dress! I was so comfortable dancing in it." Chris wore a navy, three-piece suit and white shirt. He had brown shoes and a champagne coloured tie.

Styling elements

Lauren and Chris created a romantic and whimsical styled wedding with soft pinks, ivory and greens coming together as the colour palette. "Jaspers offers stunning gardens almost every way you look and because Chris and I were married outside we wanted flowers to form the basis of all our decorations." The wedding stationery too featured water coloured flowers. "We had save the date magnets that matched our wedding invitations with flowers and the top and bottom and script in the middle. Some of our guests still have the magnets on their fridges!"

Whimsy

Adding to the romantic and whimsical style of the wedding was a wooden flower swing made by Lauren's brother-in-law. "He went above and beyond to craft a swing with our wedding date and names engraved into the wood. He also made a sign with arrows pointing towards all the different locations around the world that our guests had travelled from. The Mr and Mrs signs fastened to the back of our reception chairs were also his handiwork."

Taste buds' delight

"Chris and I are very passionate about animal welfare and are also vegans so all the food at our wedding was vegan. It was delicious in particular the grazing boards and we had so many compliments from our guests. We also pre-ordered all the wine for the wedding from Sadalford Winery in Western Australia because it is our favourite and it added another personal touch to our wedding menu," Lauren said.

A day to remember

"There are so many parts of the day that I loved. The highlights were being announced as husband and wife and the speeches. They were so funny but also thoughtful and meaningful. Everyone stuck to our given time frame which blew my Irish family out of the water with their wedding speech timing bets!" All the guests finished the evening by dancing to Lauren's favourite song, Nutbush City Limits. "I've never seen so many people do The Nutbush. I loved dancing with Chris and our friends and family. We started our married life together in the most fun way possible!"
