Your Bali Bachelorette Just Got a Serious Upgrade: The Ultimate Party Itinerary in Canggu

Sun, Cocktails and Dancing Until Someone Loses a Heel: This Is Canggu Done Right

Bali has always been a popular answer for Australian brides when asking the question "where should we go for the bachelorette?" and honestly, for very good reason. The combination of ridiculous sunshine, exceptional food, world-class beach clubs, and the kind of villas that make you feel like a reality TV contestant in the best possible way has made this island the destination of choice for brides-to-be across Australia for years running.

But Bali is a big place. And not all of it delivers the same experience. For a bachelorette that balances luxury villa life with genuine party energy and a dining experience that has no right to be as fun as it is, Canggu is your neighbourhood. Specifically, this is what your itinerary looks like when you do it properly.

Let's start where every great bachelorette starts: the villa. And Uma Santai is not just any villa.

Seven bedrooms. Seven ensuite bathrooms. A 13-metre private pool wrapped in tropical gardens and poolside loungers that were designed, we are fairly confident, for the sole purpose of looking extraordinary in photographs. The interiors take an asian-inspired minimalist approach that somehow makes the whole space feel both enormously spacious and completely cosy at once, which is a difficult thing to pull off and Uma Santai does it effortlessly.

Spread across two levels, the villa sleeps up to fourteen guests across five king beds and two sets of twins, meaning everyone has their own space without anyone feeling like they drew the short straw on the room ballot. The ground floor bedrooms open directly to the garden and pool terrace. Upstairs, the bedrooms have private terraces with views over the tropical canopy. The living areas are generous and genuinely beautiful with a full kitchen, media room, outdoor BBQ, and a private gym for anyone who feels so inclined (though honestly, the pool probably wins that argument every morning). The villa staff are attentive and well-versed in group stays and can assist with private chef bookings, drivers, and activity organisation. For a bachelorette crew, having a base this good means you genuinely want to stay in as much as you want to go out. Which is exactly the kind of problem you want to have.

Now there are a lot of beach clubs in Bali. A lot. And in the spirit of full transparency, several of them are excellent. But for a bachelorette group that wants the full experience, the VIP treatment, the private cabana, the afternoon sun, the sunset, the fireworks, and the dancing, the only answer is Finns.

Located on Berawa Beach in the heart of Canggu, Finns stretches across 170 metres of absolute oceanfront and operates at a scale that is genuinely difficult to comprehend until you are standing inside it. Nineteen pools. Fourteen bars. Multiple dance floors. A stretch of beachfront that seems to go on indefinitely. It has been voted the best beach club in Bali so consistently that the superlative has basically become part of the name.

The reason Finns is the right answer for a bachelorette specifically is the VIP Cabana experience. Each private cabana comes with its own plunge pool, a private bathroom, locker and change facilities, and a level of personalised, attentive service that makes you feel like the whole venue has been opened exclusively for your group. The cabanas sit elevated above the regular pools and dancefloor with unobstructed ocean and sunset views, and the dedicated service team assigned to your cabana handles every order, every request, and every fresh round without you needing to chase anyone down. When there are ten of you making various contradictory cocktail requests simultaneously, this matters enormously.

The day builds beautifully at Finns. Arrive by midday while the sun is still climbing, settle into the cabana, and let the afternoon unfold at whatever pace feels right. The DJ sets start early and build across the day. Happy hour runs from 8pm to 9pm with two-for-one drinks. And then the fireworks go off and the whole thing shifts into a completely different gear. People describe Finns at night as festival energy by the ocean and that is not an exaggeration. The disco balls, the fire gymnasts, the light shows, the dancing and the knowledge that your private sanctuary with its own bathroom and change room is right there whenever anyone needs a moment, make this the bachelorette beach club day that every other beach club day gets measured against.

Book the VIP Party Cabana well in advance. They sell out and this is not the day to leave things to chance.

Now where to eat and keep the party going? Motel Mexicola. You go for the tacos and you stay until midnight because you are dancing on the table and at no point does this feel like a decision you made so much as something that simply happened to you.

Motel Mexicola is a Mexican restaurant in the way that Finns is a beach club: technically accurate but significantly underselling the reality. The interiors are bold, handpainted and completely joyful, murals, textiles, warm light, Day of the Dead ofrendas in the dining room and the bathrooms, every surface a deliberate design decision. The food does exactly what it needs to: share plates of tacos, calamari and ceviche work beautifully for a group, the margaritas are dangerous in the best possible way, and the whole menu is priced well enough that ordering generously feels like the only option.

Dinner at Mexicola starts as dinner. A genuinely enjoyable meal in a beautiful room with attentive service. And then, somewhere around 9pm, without any formal announcement, the DJ arrives and the restaurant becomes something else entirely. The music shifts. People who came in for food are now dancing. Tables become dance floors. The room discovers collectively that tonight is a very good night and everyone in it seems completely fine with that.

For a bachelorette, there is almost no better dining experience in Canggu. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is completely singular, and the transition from dinner to dance party requires zero planning, zero moving venues, and zero convincing anyone to get back in the car. It just happens. Viva la Mexicola.

The everAFTER tips:

  • Book Uma Santai well in advance. Seven bedrooms in Canggu at this level do not sit available for long, particularly across Australian school holidays and peak bachelorette season (October to April).
  • Organise your Finns VIP Cabana as early as possible. The Elite Cabana accommodates up to 25 guests and is the right option for larger groups. Contact their events team directly via finnsbeachclub.com — they are experienced with bachelorette bookings and can assist with personalisation including welcome setups and group packages.
  • Dress up for Motel Mexicola. The dress code is relaxed but the room is beautiful and your group photos from that evening will thank you for the effort. Florals, colour, fun — the aesthetic of the venue rewards it.
  • Get a dedicated villa driver for the trip. Uma Santai's villa staff can organise this and having a trusted driver on call for the group, particularly for the Mexicola to villa leg of the evening, makes everything run significantly smoother and considerably safer.
  • Best time of year for Canggu: May through October is Bali's dry season and the most reliably beautiful weather for a beach-heavy itinerary. The wet season (November through April) can be gorgeous but afternoon showers are a factor worth planning around.
  • Stock the villa before you arrive. Local supermarkets in Canggu have everything you need and the difference between arriving to a stocked pool setup with cold drinks versus an empty fridge is the difference between a good first afternoon and a great one.

There is a particular kind of bachelorette trip that gets talked about for the next decade. Not because it was the wildest or the most expensive, but because every single element clicked: the villa was beautiful, the beach club was extraordinary, the dinner became a dance party without anyone planning it that way, and your best friend stood in the middle of it all with a cocktail and a look on her face that said she had no idea it was going to be this good.

Canggu, done like this, delivers that trip. Every time.
