Steve proposed on Christmas Eve beneath the Christmas tree. We were listening to carols and exchanging gifts when he got down on one knee and popped the question. It was a special moment we will never forget,” Andrea said.

The planning - a relaxed approach

For Andrea and Steve the wedding planning process was fun and stress-free. “Steve is always so relaxed and never takes life too seriously so the lead up to our wedding was just exciting,” Andrea said. The evening before the wedding, the couple hosted a family dinner at George Calombaris’ restaurant Gazi. “Following the dinner Steve and I went our separate ways and to stay relaxed, I treated myself and my bridal party to in-room massages and room service.”

Moments to remember

When they arrived at the ceremony, Andrea and Steve were thrilled by the way The Style Co. team had brought their wedding vision to life. “Our brief was ‘A Secret Garden’ and The Style Co. went above and beyond,” Andrea said. The key feature of the ceremony was the custom floral arch positioned between a row of tall trees and decorated with lush green foliage and white flowers. It provided an elegance and brought the beauty of nature inside.

High fashion

Andrea has always loved high fashion so when it came to choosing her wedding gown she contacted fashion designer Toni Maticevksi to create a bespoke gown. White pearl beads were hand sewn over the base fabric. A striking structured silhouette gave the gown its contemporary edge. “Toni added drama to the overall look by creating a long veil and detachable, one shoulder piece which I removed for the reception.”

Toni continued his signature style for the custom bridesmaid dresses. “My bridesmaids each chose a style that best suited their body shape and Toni worked with a soft grey fabric that perfectly matched our colour scheme.”

Charming idea

“My mother and my bridal party gifted me with a selection of meaningful charms that were fastened to my wedding dress. They were my ‘something new’ and the perfect tokens for good luck!”

Festival feelings

“Each guest was given a small linen bag filled with white confetti. Leaving the ceremony amidst the fluttering confetti was like a dream. Steve and I will never forget how beautiful it all looked,” Andrea said.

The style

Our wedding was styled with a natural colour palette. The design was consistent from the ceremony to the reception with shades of white and soft grey.” The reception tables were covered with custom-made grey linen and the centrepieces were cement pots full of fresh white blooms and pops of greenery. Marble elements complemented the overall natural look. “Instead of traditional wedding favours we asked our graphic designer and stationer Cocorrina to illustrate all of our guests’ names. These designs were then laser etched onto marble tiles which doubled as place cards. Our guests were thrilled to take these home as well as small posies of the table flowers wrapped up with a thank you card.”

Aerial at South Wharf is a chic, contemporary venue boasting stunning views of Melbourne’s city skyline and the Yarra River. “Steve and I love the look of marble which is why our reception venue suited us so well with its marble floor. The venue’s décor also complemented the subtle colour scheme and natural elements we had selected.” Suspended over the dance floor was a dramatic floral and foliage installation created by The Style Co. and brought to life with suspended lights.
